Have you ever thought that perhaps God has allowed your situation so that you would trust Him? Maybe He’s saying to you: Would you stop trying to figure it out and trust in MY plan? Would you stop trying to manipulate things and trust in MY purposes? Would you stop fretting and trust in MY promises? Would you stop trying to hurry things along and trust in MY timing? I heard the whisper of God this morning.

Trusting God means that we trust Him IN…  in the fire, in the confusion, in the uncertainty, in the distractions, in the pain. We trust that He will be with us in the fire no matter the outcome, we trust Him when we’re confused about what direction to take, we trust Him when we have no idea what’s going on, we trust Him when we just can’t seem to focus, and we trust Him when the pain is unbearable. Trusting means that I ask Him to help me, strengthen me, and give me courage. That I invite Him IN.

Trusting God means that we trust Him WITH… with our children or grandchildren, our finances, our marriage, our ministry, our difficult circumstances. We believe that God has plans for our kids and grandkids (and that He will deliver them), we believe that God will provide despite our dire finances, we believe that God will heal our marriage, we believe that God will be glorified through our ministry, and we believe that God’s glory will prevail in our circumstances. Trusting means that I let God go WITH me.

Trusting God means that we trust Him WHEN… when we’re called outside our comfort zone, when we can’t see what’s ahead, when things don’t turn out the way we wanted (but they probably turned out just the way God wanted), when life throws a curve ball. Trusting means that I surrender my WHEN to Him.

Our familiar verse in Isaiah reminds us that when we trust God in everything and in every situation, we get strength to carry on and confidence to soar like an eagle. Trusting God keeps us from losing heart and giving up. Let these words encourage you today to say I TRUST YOU, LORD. And then walk in that trust.
