One of the greatest characteristics Christians can live by is CONSISTENCY. The word ALWAYS in this verse in 1 Corinthians speaks about this. Some of my heroes – both biblical and modern-day – are those who were consistent in their faith. When Daniel was up against liars and schemers and his life was in jeopardy, he did what he always did – he prayed. The apostle Paul was ruthlessly persecuted, but he never wavered in his call to preach the gospel. When David was confused about his future and scared for his life, he never stopped worshiping.

Billy Graham never walked away from his true calling – to preach the gospel to the world. Kay Arthur, the founder of Precept Ministries, taught the Word of God her entire life and never softened on her biblical stance. Charlie Kirk, while he was constantly being threatened, never quit proclaiming truth. These are all examples of consistency. Let me say it again… my greatest heroes are those who lived consistent lives – lives devoted to the Lord, never wavering.

Here's the thing… life will get in the way, obstacles will come, hurt will threaten to undo you, people will fail you, trials will discourage you, and giants will tower over you. And then there’s the enemy who is always pursuing you. As long as we live here on this earth, these things are inevitable. We may not be able to evade disruptions, but we can embrace consistency. Let me encourage you to ALWAYS stay true to the Lord, never wavering and never softening your biblical stance on the whole gospel.

Be consistent in faithfulness – always trusting, always believing, always devoted. Be consistent in prayer – always coming, always showing up, always seeking the Lord. Be consistent in Bible study – every day read, meditate on, examine, and let God’s Word pour over you. Be consistent in standing firm – never wavering, never softening, and never walking away from the truth of God’s Word. Be consistent in godly living – always living to please God, always striving to be a godly example to others, and always seeking to obey His Word.

God knows how difficult life can be, how strong the culture is, and how ruthless the enemy is. That’s why He honors a consistent life. Let’s follow the example of so many who remained consistent no matter what was going on. Hope this encourages you today.
