Let me ask you… What’s going on with you today? How are you doing? Are you filled with despair or hope? Did you wake up with discouraging thoughts or positive thoughts? I know you’re going through something. I know life hasn’t been easy for you. I know pain and sorrow are real for you today.

You may be feeling alone, isolated, scared, or filled with doubts. You cannot understand why God has allowed this situation in your life. You wonder if it will ever get better. Does God even see? Is God there? Your negative thoughts have turned into worry and fear. Everyone else seems two have it together while you are falling apart inside. Trust me… no one has it all together. The struggle is just as real for them as it is for you.

Now, let me ask you… have you taken the time recently to just be thankful? To say Thank you, Jesus! Have you stood at the cross (figuratively speaking, of course) and said OUT LOUD… “Oh Lord, thank you for what you did for me?” Thank you for rescuing me! Thank you for dying so that I can have life! Thank you that you gave me a place to belong! Thank you for the body of Christ! Thank you that you have never left me… that you are still holding my hand and guiding me even when things are difficult.

Thank you, Jesus, that today you are walking with me, talking to me, comforting me, and holding me tight. Thank you, Lord, that while I do not know what the future holds, I know who holds the future.

Being thankful is one of the best things we can do. It’s easy to be thankful when things are going well, but not so easy when the world around us is crumbling. Imagine how Jesus smiles when He hears us say THANK YOU, LORD! So, let me encourage you to say Thank you, Jesus OUT LOUD today… and if you need to…. say it again and again. Thankfulness can change our perspective, lift up our spirits, and offer us hope. Your circumstances may not change but you will. I’m living in a thankful mode today. Will you join me?
