Many years ago, I knew God was calling me to teach a Bible study. I was being transformed by the study of His Word, and I wanted others to experience the same transformation. So, I went to the Christian bookstore in search of a Bible study. To my disappointment, though, I found that most Bible studies were surfacy. In other words, they didn't take the student deeper. That's when I decided to write my own studies.

According to this verse in Colossians, there are great treasures of wisdom and knowledge for the believer. Treasures awaiting us to find. But they're not found in Sunday sermons, the basic elements of the Christian faith, or discussing theology with friends. These things are all good, but the TRUE treasures lie beyond the surface. These treasures will never be found if we are not willing to venture beyond our salvation. We must be willing to go deeper.

I may not understand the ins and outs of Wallstreet, legislature, or algorithms. I may not have an IQ like many others. But God tells me that He is the One who is full of knowledge and wisdom, and I can know these deep things. Below the surface are chests full of treasures. All I have to do is be willing to dig for them.

But here's the thing... the knowledge God offers is not just to fill up our heads with stuff... it's meant to transform us. The church is loaded with Christians who are full of knowledge, but this knowledge hasn't taken the trip from their brains to their hearts. We should always be on the search for knowledge AND wisdom. Wisdom is what we need to live the way God intended us to live. Wisdom helps us to discern. Wisdom is valuable. But wisdom comes from going deeper into God's Word.

My goal is to always go deeper and to take others with me. I hope you'll stick with me so that we can dive together. We have a couple awesome online Bible studies coming up in 2026. I hope you'll join us. Check them out on my website: solidtruthministries.com.
