Did you know that the gospel is our mission? With that said, we need to
ask... what is the gospel. The gospel in the broad sense is all of Scripture, but in the narrow sense, it's the Good News about Jesus and the way to salvation. The gospel is powerful for those who believe, but it can be offensive to those who do not believe. Why is it offensive? Here are several reasons... 1) the gospel calls people sinners (and that doesn't sit well with a lot people); 2) the gospel is narrow - there is only way to salvation and that's through Jesus (many people believe that you can work your way into heaven or that there many paths to heaven; 3) the gospel says that you must repent of your sins or you will spend eternity in hell (many people like living in their sins and many people do not even believe in hell).
Perhaps it was these things that brought Paul to say, "I am not ashamed of the gospel." Paul never held back with the gospel. It was his mission... to proclaim it to the world. He also became a martyr for the gospel as well as many others. In fact, Charlie Kirk became a martyr for the gospel as well. As I've listened to many of his messages, he did not hold back, did not compromise, and proclaimed it every day. He also died for it. Satan will not have the final word in Charlie's death, though. No! God will have the final word. It may just spark revival. Let's pray it does.
Let's continue the apostle Paul's ministry and Charlie Kirk's ministry of proclaiming the gospel. Don't be ashamed. Don't hold back. Don't compromise. Ask God to give you more boldness than you've ever had. The days are evil and we are close to Jesus' return for the church. Charlie said, "Let's make heaven crowded." YES! Let's do it. Hope this encourages you today.
